F-14 Aircraft Iranian Air Force Fall, Two Pilots Killed

F-14 Tomcat Iran's Air Force crashed in the province of Bushehr on the Persian Gulf coast region, Iran, Thursday (1/26/2012) morning. Two pilots were killed when US-made plane that crashed minutes after takeoff.

"The pilot and copilot F-14 aircraft that crashed this morning had (died) as a martyr," said officials of Bushehr Province, Jafar Pourkabgani, told Fars news agency. According to Jafar, the plane crashed due to "technical failure" and the investigation is still underway to find the exact cause of the crash.

Iran still operates a fleet of Tomcat aircraft purchased from the United States in the era of the Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi's pro-West before the Iranian Revolution occurred in 1979. F-14 Tomcat is a twin-engine aircraft and tandem seater, which was the backbone of the U.S. Navy air forces operating from aircraft carriers.

In the world of pop, the aircraft was popularized through the movie Top Gun (1986), starring Tom Cruise, Val Kilmer, and Kelly McGillis.

Economic sanctions against Iran over its nuclear program has seriously affected the state's ability to care for the fighter fleet. According to news agency AFP, in the last decade, a series of serious air accident in Iran has led to more than 900 people were killed.

Russia Develops Unmanned Aircraft

Russia was determined to catch up in terms of technology unmanned aircraft (drone) from the U.S.. Russian helicopter manufacturer, Russian Helicopters, receive allocations from the federal government $ 5 billion Russian rubles (USD 1.4 trillion) for the development of three types of drones at once.

Russia's Defense Ministry wants the company is developing an unmanned helicopter weighs light, medium, and heavy, which can be enabled for reconnaissance missions, transport, and invasion. Three Killed in Helicopter Crash in Afghanistan

Three people were killed when a civilian helicopter contracted by NATO troops crashed and burned in Helmand province, southern Afghanistan on Monday (1/16/2012), officials said.

The helicopter was "no longer exists due to engine trouble", said Daud Ahmadi, spokesman for the provincial government.

Airbus Relocate Wing Production to South Korea

Airbus decided to move some of the production process of the aircraft wings factory in Broughton, north Wales, England, to the aerospace companies of South Korea (ROK), Korean Aerospace Industries (KAI), Tuesday (01/10/2012).

According to a statement the EADS subsidiary, KAI believed to create panels of the wing to wing medium-range passenger jet Airbus A320. Final assembly of all parts of the wing is still being done in Broughton, which assembles artificial wings for all Airbus aircraft, including the A380 superjumbo.

A total of 200 staff affected by the transfer of this production, will be employed again in other parts factory in Broughton.

However, this decision immediately drew criticism from the British union.

"We have a lot of British companies who are ready, willing, and able to carry out the work for Airbus, but did not get a contract job. England is the largest manufacturer of aircraft wings in the world, but this contract melemahkah British position and provide our global competitors with advantages that are not needs to happen, "said Ian Waddell of the trade union Unite.
