Indonesian Aerospace Launched 2013 & N219 Aircraft 

Currently, the aviation pioneer in several areas of the archipelago such as Papua is still done by the old production aircraft like the Twin Otter. Some existing units have improper wear necessitating a more modern aircraft.

Therefore, since 2006 Indonesian Aerospace Industry to develop aircraft with a capacity of 19 persons N219 to replace the existing pioneer aircraft. Currently, the aircraft aerodynamic tests have been completed.

"Development of the aircraft of this type usually takes 3 years. However, we will probably finish 2 to 2.5 years," said Andi Alisjahbana, Aerostructure Director of Indonesian Aerospace Industry, on Tuesday (28/12/2010) in Jakarta. So, in 2013, the aircraft may already be launched.

In order to prevent failures such as N 250, Indonesian Aerospace Industry will produce a plane based on orders. "We will create 25 units used to be. We will pursue all sold before," said Andi.

To make a number of units, the required funding of about USD 1 trillion, the amount was minimal, according to Andi for making airplanes. Andi target, a number of aircraft would be purchased by local governments.

Andi said the aircraft specifications N219 is designed with the geographical condition of Indonesia, making it very appropriate. The aircraft is capable of landing on short runway so that it can be applied in remote areas of limited land.

"The aircraft is also designed so that it can carry extra fuel. We realize that not every area has a refueling,"said Andi reveals excess N219 aircraft.

Budi Santoso, President Director of Indonesian Aerospace Industry said that the development of this aircraft is based on the geographical characteristics of Indonesia. "Our geographical conditions are different from other countries. We must have its own solution," he said.

Development of small aircraft that can reach remote areas assessed Budi very fit. "Many parts of Indonesia that is not easily accessible by land transportation. The plane pilot could be a solution," he explained.

N219 plane itself has a great potential to be marketed to areas such as Sumatra and Papua. The aircraft is also expected to be marketed to other countries that still require, for example countries in Africa.

Qantas Iron Fell Only 20 cm from a 4-day-Old Infant.

One piece of iron components Qantas Airways fell about 20 feet from a four-day-old infant. A 30 cm piece of Qantas component fell when Anindya Nath Raina, the baby was sleep after penetrating the roof and ceiling of the house.

According to Bagus Ahmad (29), Nathan's parents, iron is still hot when they fall. It is estimated, weighing about 2 kg. Iron falling on the side of Nathan left their mark on floor. Iron that looks like a muffler thfell on floor and then bounced as high as two feet and then hit a wall before falling on the floor again.

"When the incident, my wife and I were waiting for Nathan who again fever. Suddenly, he heard a loud noise in the ceiling and before I know the iron-like muffler fell near my child. Gratitude Nathan survived from this accident," said Bagus Ahmad.

Qantas Airplane Explodes in Indonesia

A Qantas plane is suspected of exploding in the air of Batam. The explosion was heard around Hang Nadim airport, Batam, on Thursday.

A Qantas Airways passenger plane carrying 459 people was forced to shut down an engine and return to to Singapore’s Changi airport on Thursday, ending speculation that it had crashed, the airline and Singapore state TV said. The Airbus A-380, the world’s largest passenger plane, suffered engine trouble shortly after it had left the island state.

Initial media reports said the plane had crashed after an explosion over the Indonesian island of Batam, near Singapore. The reports sent the Australian carrier’s shares lower but they later recovered.

Singapore’s Channel NewsAsia said the plane had initially circled Singapore to burn fuel before making an emergency landing at 11:45 am (0345 GMT). Australian officials said no one on board had been injured.

“A Qantas A-380 aircraft operating QF32 from Singapore to Sydney experienced an engine issue soon after take-off and returned to Singapore,” Qantas said in a statement. A Reuters reporter said the plane was surrounded by emergency vehicles but there was no sign of any smoke or fire, with passengers apparently still on board.

Qantas said that 433 passengers and 26 crew were on board. Indonesian TV showed pictures of a small amount of debris on the ground near Batam airport which it said belonged to the Qantas flight, QF32. There was no independent confirmation.

Rusdi, a witness in Batam, told Indonesia’s Metro TV: “After an explosion, the plane was still moving but smoke was trailing from one of its wings.” The plane, which can carry more than 500 passengers, had originated in London and had taken off from Singapore heading for Sydney.

Qantas has never had a fatal accident. A mid-air explosion blew a minivan-size hole in the side of a Qantas 747-400 in 2008 which Australian air safety investigators blamed on an oxygen bottle.

Tajikistan helicopter crashes, 28 killed

A military helicopter crashed in eastern Tajikistan, Wednesday (6/10/2010), killing 28 soldiers.
Some military sources said the accident occurred in an area where government forces fighting Muslim male guerrilla fighter.
Meanwhile, police sources quoted by RIA Novosti news agency, said the death toll of 27 soldiers. The helicopter crashed in the district of Rasht.

Lufthansa and Turkey Airlines Collision

The German airline, Lufthansa and Turkey Airlines, collided at the International Airport Accra, the capital of Ghana, on Monday night.

The second wing aircraft rub against each other after Turkey plane will take off, while Lufthansa would land.

There were no fatalities in the incident. However, the parts of both aircraft had suffered damage from the collision.

The accident occurred due to delay in flight departure and late arrival of Turkish Lufthansa plane on Monday.

"The passenger plane was immediately evacuated due to repair damage to the aircraft," said Ghana's transportation officials on Tuesday (5/10/2010).

Ghana's Deputy Minister of Transport, Dzifa Attivor, and a number of direct flights technicians come to the site of the accident to find the cause of the accident.
