But what happened on that flight, said a federal law enforcement, not related to terrorism.
The first incident involved the aircraft American Airlines Flight 34 that flew from Los Angeles International Airport to John F Kennedy (JFK) International Airport in New York. Transportation Security Agency (TSA) told about the alleged number of passengers on the flight were behaving strangely, said TSA spokesman Greg Soule.
As a precaution, authorities then sent two F-16 fighter jets to escort the plane until it landed safely at JFK airport at around 16:10 local time, said Soule. He added that law enforcement officers will interview the passengers. While J Peter Donald from the FBI's New York, said the incident involved three passengers.
American Airlines spokesman, Tim Smith, told CNN that a passenger had told the crew about the perceived security problems. The captain then investigate and chose not to notify a security threat and no one on the plane who asked for military assistance or law enforcement, Smith said.
The second incident involving the aircraft Frontier Airlines Flight 623 flying from Denver International Airport to Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport. Cabin crew noticed two men acting suspiciously. One person spent about 20 minutes in the restroom at the rear of the plane, while the other waited in the kitchen in front of a small room, also for 20 minutes, before using the restroom, said Frontier spokesman, Peter Kowalchuk.
"The crew did not feel threatened," said Kowalchuk, but "watch" the two men.
TSA spokeswoman, Kristin Lee, said the agency was notified at 15:15. North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) ordered a number of F-16 aircraft to escort the flights, said Lee.
Authorities later secured the three passengers, including two people who act suspicious, when the plane landed in Detroit, said Kowalchuk. But Sandra Berchtold of the FBI said no arrests have been made.
